Introduction, Notes on the Text, and Suggested Readings for The Blood of the Vampire by Florence Marryat

This is the first publication of Marryat’s 1897 novel by Penguin Classics. I was approached to write a non-scholarly, public-friendly, introduction to the text which includes biographical information on the author, historical publication information on the novel, and previews some of the novel’s most important themes. I also composed a substantial list of suggested further readings that deal with similar themes to the novel, including a vast array of media types and publication years.
